Disappearing Tradition
As the last kampung in Singapore could vanish in the future, will we remember and cherish its sight, smell, and touch?
There are still residents living in the kampung (old village), but one by one moving out as the surroundings progress forward. With future development plans for the land to be upscale, Singapore will lose its last traditional living space. But curious individuals are coming to the kampung to experience the village lifestyle, will this invade the privacy of the villagers and may disrupt their daily activities in peace? How can the people have a common ground?
